Sometimes, the internet can be a wonderful place.

Some of us are quite particular when it comes to things we use in our every day lives.

We all have our favorite brands and products.

But apparently, our pets do too. Take Jaxon the Chihuahua for example.

His favorite thing is his green alligator “Greenie.”

There is nothing Jaxon loves more than his green alligator “Greenie.”

And any other green alligator won’t do. Jaxon only likes Greenie.

“He loves Greenie,” Jaxon’s mom Kelli Brown told TODAY. “Mostly he likes to lay his head on it when he’s lounging on the couch, and he also gives it tiny bites. He’s not a chewer and he’s never even squeaked the squeaker.”

Kelli has tried to introduce 12-year-old Jaxon to other toys, but the senior dog wants nothing to do with them.

“We have tons of toys in the house, but he only has eyes for his Greenie,” Kelli said.

So his mom Kelli Brown always makes sure to buy Jaxon a new Greenie when his old one wears out.

He usually goes through at least two Greenies per year.

But when Kelli went to go buy a new one at PetSmart this time around, an associate told her that the toy had been discontinued.

Kelli knew she had to do whatever she could to find Jaxon a new Greenie.

Greenie, after all, was very special to Jaxon.

“He was adopted from our local shelter on December 8, 2014, and I put one of these toys in his stocking the first year we had him (our other dog got the red version — which was a dragon), and this has just always been the only toy he’s ever played with!” she told The Dodo.

Kelli took to the internet to see if a search could find her a Greenie. But that was unsuccessful.

Kelli would say that she panicked but that would be “the understatement of the century.”

“It was like they’d disappeared completely!” she explains.

She decided to Tweet PetSmart to see if anyone could help her find a Greenie.

“PLZ HELP! This Top Paw toy has been discontinued but it’s the only toy 12 y/o Jaxon will play with. Got any laying around? We’ll buy them all up if you let us! Our internet search brought us no luck. Very sad boy here!!”

Kelli hoped that her plea would put an end to her search.

“I thought some PetSmart employee would see my post, tell me they had a couple in their store, I’d call and pay them over the phone and hope they’d get shipped,” she said. “That’s really all I expected (or) hoped for. Just a few Greenies for my boy!”

Lots of people chimed in suggesting different alternatives and simliar looking toys.

But Kelli knew those wouldn’t do.

We’ve tried other green toys over the years, he won’t have anything to do with them,” she wrote. “And there was a red & yellow version of his fave toy (a dragon!) same size, same fabric, just a different color and no dice. What a weirdo, lol.”

Kelli, who lives in Bowling Green, Kentucky, was starting to lose hope when a very popular Twitter account, WeRateDogs, shared her post.

That’s when she heard from a PetSmart employee from Texas reached out to her.

“I work at PetsSmart and I can checkout clearance to see if we have any!” Kendyl Kercho Tweeted at Kelli.

Kendyl says she just wanted to help make Jaxon smile.

“I think what inspired me is my love for pets. I have a desire to do anything in my power to help animals anywhere and everywhere,” Kendyl said. “I figured if anyone could help, it was me, because I work at PetSmart where the toy comes from.”

Kendyl set out on a search for the toy during her next shift.

She had one last place to check and it was there that she found a Greenie.

“I actually squeaked audibly when I found the clearance toy bin in the back where they were tucked away,” Kendyl said. “I immediately told my manager, ‘These are the toys I’ve been looking for for my Chihuahua friend in Kentucky!’”

Kendyl ended up finding about seven or eight of the toys and packed them up along with some of Jaxon’s favorite treats.

She also left an adorable card with the cutest drawing of Jaxon and his Greenie.

Jaxon and his mom were overjoyed when they recieved their package.

Happy to say the power of the internet came through BIG TIME. He is so happy right now … thank you all,” Kelli tweeted.

Kelli said she actually teared up when she recieved the box.

Jaxon’s story ended up going viral and the internet lit up with happy pet lovers.

Though Kendyl spent more than $20 on Jaxon’s package, she refused and money for it.

“Really, the greatest part of it is seeing how happy the little dog was,” Kercho said. “I just love dogs so much.”

As it turns out Jaxon wasn’t the only who loved that green alligator.

Lots of people on the internet said their dogs love the toy too. Kelli said that she’ll share any extras that Jaxon doesn’t need.

“It’s been awesome to be a small part of something so positive,” Kelli said. “People are so good. I mean really, really good.”
